"The ‘Celia’ backdrop was created from what I feel embodies my work the most - feminine, soft and painterly. Think textured wall in a beautiful old Parisian mansion (that’s why my backdrop is named Celia). The idea was to creating something that felt like watercolours and would work with many different shoot scenarios. It looks as beautiful in natural light as it does constant/artificial light.” - Lara Jade

Lara Jade is a fashion photographer who currently resides in New York City. She grew up in Staffordshire, England where she discovered her interest in photography at an early age. She later moved to London to pursue fashion photography full-time before making NYC her home in 2011.

Influenced by playful narratives, colour and elegance, Lara enjoys creating stories with a cinematic approach. She is inspired by elements of old masters in painting, romanticism and untouched beauty.

Being equally comfortable in front of the lens has led to several TV and digital appearances with recent collaborations with Barneys, Emporio Armani and Verizon Fios. Lara has also been featured as a guest photographer on both Poland’s Next Top Model and DigitalRev TV.

Lara has also been fortunate enough to receive a number of sponsorships and accolades; she is sponsored by Canon UK and Broncolor.

As well as working on her personal work, she also tutors fashion photography workshops around the globe and is a regular speaker in the photography scene – speaking at conventions and shows such as the UK Photo Show, PhotoPlus International Expo, Shoot A’Dam and Canon sponsored events.

During the design process Lara said, “For me, photography is about capturing that timeless look - a photo that keeps it place in many years to come. A keepsake. When I work with textured backdrops I feel as if they enhance the mood of the image and the creation is almost as if you are creating a painting. When Seamless approached me to create my own backdrop with them I immediately jumped at the chance - this is exactly what I am passionate about as a photographer - sharing an aesthetic with others that I believe continues the ‘artistic’ approach in photography.”
